FAQ

VACUUM FORMING

Vacuum forming is a process in which a thermoplastic sheet is heated to the appropriate temperature, stretched around or into a mold/pattern, and conformed to the mold by applying vacuum pressure between the mold surface and the plastic sheet. Because heating of the material to be formed is required, vacuum forming is considered a thermoforming process.

Fast turnaround, lower tooling and manufacturing costs are three good reasons, as well as the ability to create durable high quality products.

Plastics that lend themselves best to thermoforming are: acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer (ABS), high-impact polystyrene (HIPS), high density polyethylene (HDPE), high molecular weight polyethylene (HMWPE), polypropylene (PP), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polymethyl methacrylate (or “acrylic”) (PMMA), and polyethylene terephthalate modified with CHDM (PETG). Fiber Pad, Inc. will match custom colors and custom textures and will specify other requirements such as FDA approved medical and food material, electrostatic discharge material, and fire retardant material.

Sharp, crisp detail with close tolerances can be achieved. Undercuts, formed-in texture, formed-in logos, formed-in hardware, and custom colors are just a few of the many features that can be accomplished with thermoforming.

ACRYLIC

1. Aesthetics: mirror effect, exquisite workmanship, no wrinkles, no seams;

2. Visual effect: various colors, strong visual impact;

3. Light transmittance: the light transmittance can reach 96%, with excellent light transmittance and soft light;

4. Impact resistance: more than 200 times that of ordinary glass products, with almost no risk of breakage;

5. Durability: the product has a good protection for the built-in light source, and extends the service life of the light source product;

6. Weather resistance: it can ensure that the color will not fade for a long time, and the service life of high-quality boards can be as long as 6-13 years;

7. Flame resistance: no spontaneous combustion and self extinguishing;

8. Energy saving: very good light transmittance, relatively reducing light source, saving power, reducing the cost of use;

9. Rationality: reasonable design, rainproof and moisture-proof, open structure, convenient for cleaning and maintenance.

Acrylic products have been widely used in daily life. In addition, the development of acrylic plate has been more and more rapid, and the use is also more and more extensive. The use in daily life is mainly reflected in the kitchen, bathroom, home decoration, lighting, vanity, etc.

First is the use of kitchen and bathroom. Many people know about the Acrylic bathtub incident of a certain brand before. From another perspective, this news also played a certain role in promoting Acrylic, allowing people to have a deeper understanding of the kitchen and bathroom items of Acrylic. In addition to the bathtub, there are acrylic wash stations, acrylic wash basins, acrylic wash cups, acrylic sanitary ware racks, etc.

Moreover, there are daily necessities in the living room, among which the representative ones are acrylic vases, acrylic fish tanks, acrylic fruit plates, acrylic wine racks, acrylic wine cabinets, acrylic remote control storage boxes, and key storage boxes, which are the first choice of daily necessities for modern style home decoration. It not only conforms to the modern style, but also reflects the typical lazy style of modern people. In the process of use, it does not need to spend too much time to clean, just wash with water, and do not worry about breaking, which greatly reduces the potential safety hazards. Among them, the acrylic wine rack is the biggest highlight. Different wine racks can be used according to different wine bottle shapes, which greatly increases the safety of wine bottles when they are fixed, and can also place multiple bottles of wine at the same time. The display is neat and beautiful.

Most of the products on the market are cut and assembled from plates or acrylic tubes and acrylic columns (such as shelves, boxes, tubes and various handicrafts with complex structures)

Because the types of boards are very diverse, the boards can also be divided into solid color, transparent, colored translucent, texture, and colorful, meeting the market demand to a large extent. Acrylic materials have also replaced a lot of glass, plastic, and solid wood decoration. Therefore, the customized categories of acrylic at home and abroad are increasing, and the products that can be replaced by acrylic are also increasing. Acrylic products can almost be said to be substitutes for many materials, and there is no limit to the types of products that can be made.

First of all, the light transmittance of acrylic is as high as 92%, while that of ordinary glass is only 85%. Under the sunlight, the printed acrylic looks more beautiful and eye-catching.

Secondly, the insulation degree of acrylic is also very outstanding. Many of our customers use acrylic to make flat panel displays, electronic door displays, etc.

Thirdly, it is environmentally friendly enough, because acrylic is a relatively environment-friendly new material at present, and it can also be used repeatedly. Unlike glass, it can be smashed as soon as it is dropped. It can only be thrown away as garbage. Even when moving, glass products are too bulky for us to carry, but it is a pity to throw away as garbage. When selling waste products, they cannot sell at a good price.

Finally, acrylic also has strong plasticity. Because the texture of acrylic is lighter than ordinary glass, it can be processed into the type you want, such as display frames, storage boxes, photo frames, etc. used in our daily life. Customized size, thickness and color can be customized.
